New spy photos arrive to confirm our previous assumptions: The 2022 BMW 3 Series Facelift will inherit the large and curved display from the BMW i4 and iX. During a recent trip to Munich, we had the chance to spend some time in a driving simulator and one of the cars tested that day was a 3 Series with the curved display.
When the new BMW M2 comes out, it’s likely the German company will offer it in more than one flavor from the beginning, just like the new M3 and M4. Whereas with the previous generation we had a sort of interesting ordeal, with the facelift coming in only Competition guise, due to an emissions regulation requiring BMW to use the newer S55 engine from the F80 M3 Competition.
The race below features two quite heavily modified SUVs. The BMW is apparently making somewhere around 700 HP. We’re saying around, because it’s hard to say exactly how much it makes, as it is usually the case with tuned cars. At the same time, the Alfa was also tuned, according to the clip. It has a Stage 2 ECU tune along with a new set of downpipes and that should, theoretically, take it up to around 620 HP.
Once upon a time, drag racing was reserved for a special kind of car but the advancement of turbocharged and even supercharged mills changed that. Now, some of the fastest cars in the world can become even faster with some tinkering under the hood, transforming into true land rockets on a matter of days.
Throttle House brought together the M3 Competition xDrive, Audi RS5 Sportback, and — ironically — the Nissan GT-R. There’s no power difference between the M3 Comp and M3 Comp xDrive, with both cars using the same 3.0 liter twin-turbo I6 to make 503 horsepower. The Audi RS5 is the least powerful car in the test, with 444 horsepower, though it has a knack for overperforming, so it should still have a chance.
This time, the challengers have gathered to a drag strip, in typical Carwow fashion. However, there’s a twist to talk about here, and it sits right between the M3 and the Audi RS5. Unlike in previous videos of the M3 going up against the C63 and RS5, this time we’re looking at an older version of the Mercedes-Benz model. This is a two-generation old C63 AMG Black Series model, and it’s what some people would call ‘ideal’.
AC Schnitzer recently revealed its tuning package for the BMW M4 Competition and it packs quite a serious punch. In this new POV video from AutoTopNL, we get to take a look at the AC Schnitzer BMW M4, to see what it’s like to drive.
During his trip to Germany, Achilles was lent a standard BMW M4 with a manual transmission, something he can’t get back home in the UK. For the UK market, BMW only offers Competition model, which are automatic-only. This allowed Achilles to properly test out a manual M4 for a bit, to get a feel for the differences between it and his G80 M3. In this new video, he not only tests the M4 on some nice, twisty German roads but he also takes it to the Nürburgring.
The one that started it all. That’s how the BMW E30 M3 will forever be remembered, as it was the one that came first in a long line of M3 models. It was a trailblazer and, even though the M division did make other cars before it, it was the E30 M3 that brought true success to the BMW sub-brand, with its incredible performance and huge popularity. There were a number of factors at play here, all working together to make it a legend.
The E34-generation BMW M5 is an underappreciated, often forgotten M car among enthusiasts. Despite being a good car overall, there are a few reasons why the E34 M5 flew under the radar for awhile. In this new video from Misha Charoudin, he took delivery of his very own E34 BMW M5 project car.
AutoTopNL decided to upgrade its exhaust noise as well fitting this M3 with an Fi exhaust. Interestingly, the exhaust tips on the Fi system are golden, which compliments the Zanzibar paint quite well. After hearing the new exhaust, the BMW M3 certainly has a different character.
A couple of years ago, BMW made some interesting news with its Reversing Assistant technology. It was a function that would remember the last fifty meters of forward driving and, if engaged, could reverse on its own along the exact path you previously drove it on. While a bit of a niche function, it was incredibly helpful for certain scenarios.
