For some time there has been talk that a BMW M4 CSL could be on the cards. The rumour mill has been fed by the appearance of several test mules that have been spied testing at the Nurburgring, BMW’s dynamic test facility of choice
The BMW Z4 Facelift model is expected to arrive in late 2022. A G29 Z4 LCI prototype was spotted in Munich earlier this week, of course wearing the typical BMW camouflage. BMW is likely to keep the Z4 Roadster around for another three years, but after that, its faith is unknown.
The current G30 BMW 5 Series is getting a bit long in the tooth. Some new spy photos and some interesting new details have emerged, giving us some better insight into what the G60 5er is actually going to be like. Bimmerpost, the next-gen G60 BMW 5 Series isn’t coming until 2023, so we still have quite a long ways to go before we actually see it.
When it comes to rear-wheel drive versus all-wheel drive (or four-wheel drive, whatever), there are basically two schools of thought. Thanks to Carwow’s Mat Watson, you can see exactly what it means to distribute those 503 hp efficiently between the axles, as opposed to forcing them onto the rear wheels exclusively. The xDrive variant won every single race, both over a quarter mile and a half mile.
It’s a firm and relatively uncompromised sports saloon. Same as the rear-drive version. Wonderful seats and driving position, bit of jiggle but otherwise consumes long journeys with ease. Low speed ride around town is harsh.
Buying a new BMW M3 (G80) gives you the possibility to either stick to the standard exhaust or choose the optional M Performance setup with stacked tips mounted near the center of the rear bumper. If none of them tickle your fancy, there’s always the aftermarket scene offering multiple custom exhausts.
The recipe was nearly perfect: clear-cut, elegant lines, a design that would withstand the test of time, a high-revving straight six engine, what more could you ask for? Well, for some people, the 333 HP the M3 came with weren’t enough.
The AC Schnitzer team put together a very interesting upgrade for the BMW M4 Competition, taking the high-performance M car up from its standard 510 PS to about 590 PS without changing too much under the hood.
We’ve known for a while that 1,000 HP BMW M5 models exist, but we haven’t seen just how fast they are compared to regular cars on public roads, so far. There are very few places around the world where you can actually let a 1,000 HP M5 go all out without immediately going to jail. In the footage below, we get to see such a monster going all out on an unrestricted section of the German Autobahn.
With Tesla sales surging around the world, more customers in different countries are starting to take the American car maker more seriously. The fact that the guys from Carwow decided to do a comparison between the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Tesla Model 3 says a lot. That’s especially true if you think about the massive tradition of both the 3 Series and C-Class, having dominated this segment for decades.
2023 will bring two new variants to the BMW M3 and M4 range. Just like the previous generation, the BMW M3 CS and M4 CS will sit above the Competition models, but slightly below the M4 CSL high-performance coupe. After the incredible success of the M2 CS and M5 CS, it’s easy to get excited about new CS models.
Revealed by a BMW insider on the Bimmerpost forum, the G87 M2 is set to start rolling down the San Luis Potosi production line in Mexico towards the end of next year, with the familiar S58 engine under the bonnet. arried across from the current M3 and M4, the 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged inline-six will be detuned from its current 353 kW to 339kW, with BMW not wanting to undercut its more established nameplates.
