The future is almost here, at least where BMW’s big flagship sedan is concerned. The electric 7 will be called the i7, joining the iX3, and i4 and iX in a reimagined EV sub-brand lineup.
A drag race set up by the Sam CarLegion YouTube channel pitted a GR Supra against a BMW M440i convertible, both equipped with the same turbocharged six-cylinder engine and 8-speed automatic transmission.
The good folks over at Carwow are at it again, this time around organizing one of the biggest drag races we’ve seen from Mat Watson and his crew. Arguably some of the most exciting hot hatchbacks.
In this new video from Joe Achilles, he attempts to remedy that on his own G80 BMW M3 Competition, by fitting a Milltek exhaust system.
The M Division is finally building its very own standalone performance car, one not based on any preexisting BMW product. An all-new V8 engine will pair with an electric motor to make 750 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque, which not only makes it BMW M’s first hybrid but also the most powerful BMW in history.
BMW unveiled the M4 GTS a little over six years ago when it announced that it would assemble 700 cars. The final car was built on November 28, 2016, according to a Florida seller on eBay who is trying to find a new home for the virtually unused track-focused machine.
Digital car key support for locking/unlocking and starting vehicles is going live for the Pixel 6 and Samsung Galaxy S21 lines from today. At launch, you need to physically tap the door to unlock. That said, Android’s digital car keys are designed to eventually leverage Ultra-Wideband on newer devices and cars so that the phone can stay in your pocket.
Supercar Blondie got to take a look at it and called it the SUV of the future. The new grille will be making an appearance on all the cars BMW puts forward starting 2022, so there’s no alternative than getting used to it.
The saloon that won Top Gear’s four-door award was the BMW i4 M50. It was a bit of an unusual winner for Top Gear, as it’s not exactly the sort of four-door, premium, sports car from BMW, is it? However, it was good enough to impress the TG judges enough to take down every other four-door car in its segment.
The BMW M2 Competition is one of the most impressive sports cars to emerge from Bavaria, right up there with the original e30 M3.
The BMW Concept XM previews the production XM model which will join the M lineup in 2023. Along with a few world premieres for BMW – such as the first ever V8 plug-in hybrid the BMW XM is also rumored to have a unique naming conventions.
So now that the XM Concept is finally here, showing off a very production-ready look at the upcoming car, we spoke with the man behind the M Division – CEO Frank van Meel.
